The truth is that McCain, for all his faults, is the most libertarian GOP nominee since Barry Goldwater. His willingness to run on a reform message opens up all sorts of possibilities for those of us who are interested in pushing specific, libertarian reforms, and we ought to be looking for ways to work with him. I also respect your opinion but I have to debate your statements. I personally have been registered Republican my entire life and have always voted the ticket loyally my entire life. What I have to say is nothing specifically about McCain/Palin but on the concept of ALWAYS voting the ticket for party “loyalty”.

First off, voting the REPUBLICAN ticket seems to really gotten us far on our principles. In regards to Socialism, wasn’t it the REPUBLICANS who brought us Prescriptions Drugs? Wasn’t it the REPUBLICANS who brought us No Child Left Behind? Wasn’t it the last REPUBLICAN administration who brought us the WONDERFUL reputation for having outspent ANY administration (Democrat or REPUBLICAN) in American History? Yes, we have done well by blindly voting for the REPUBLICAN slate. On matters of Liberty, wasn’t it a REPUBLICAN Congress, Senate, and Administration that used 9/11 events to grab for powers by passing the Patriot Act and robbing us of due process and privacy rights? Isn’t our current REPUBLICAN Administration involved in ANOTHER power grab on Wall Street pushing legislation that will give unelected officials complete control without oversight of our markets in additional to the nationalization of several of our Industries?! Please explain how our Loyalty has been rewarded with actual conservative candidates and legislation?

To add insult to injury wasn’t it our own Party’s nominee that sponsored and pasted legislation that infringed your 1st Amendment rights that was used to attack your noble efforts to fight the embedded powers on taxes?!

Isn’t it possible that while we honor the Party, that our party leadership may be corrupt and serving the will of the special interests they are beholden too instead of it’s loyal membership? Isn’t it time we call this masquerade for what it is and stand up to the Party Leadership instead of giving our blind loyalty? Isn’t it through DISCOURSE not HARMONY (Loyalty) that we advance the Cause of Liberty and Free Markets?

Matt's main issues in mcCain's favor -- "free trade, divided government, earmarks, , entitlements, immigration and, well, Sarah." -- are serious reasons to vote AGAINST Obama bin Biden, whose positions are opposite and destructive.
