RLC activists elected to Alameda County GOP Board in California

For the second time in as many months, a group of limited government activists and RLC allies in California have taken over a local Republican Party there. It happened in December in Los Angeles and just recently in Alameda County.

Following an organizational meeting on January 20 that was devoid of contention, the Alameda County Republican Central Committee is pleased to announce our new leadership team headed by Chairman Karen Wind and Vice Chairman Walter Stanley, III. Mr. Stanley is the Secretary of the Republican Liberty Caucus of California.

Although a relative newcomer to Alameda County Republican politics, the group he organized, the Constitutional Republicans, became one of the leading Republican volunteer organizations in the county and put in a great deal of work for the two major campaigns in the Tri-Valley, Dean Andal for Congress and Abram Wilson for State Assembly.

    Constitutional Republicans’ Press Release

    County Republicans packed the house for the biennial Organizational Meeting in San Leandro, just south of Oakland, to seat the newly elected members on the Central Committee. The substantial group of Republicans, young and old, took an oath to “support and defend” the U.S. Constitution on Tuesday night. Spirits were positive and the meeting went smoothly as members approved a new set of bylaws and elected experienced and energetic new leadership to head the committee.

    The County Party has taken the first steps in rebounding from the November election and redefining itself as the Party of limited government. Committee members made an effort to look towards the future as preparations were made to aid Republican campaigns for Governor and U.S. Senate, as well as local contests, in the upcoming 2010 election.

    As one of the newly elected committee members said, “We had an exemplary meeting tonight. This shows what can be accomplished when good people work together to get things done.” Another said we’re “Ready for a Republican revolution in Alameda County!”
