People complain about the influence of money in politics, and of all the money it takes. They try to make futile and liberty-disturbing "reforms" to suppress the flow of money in politics, but they never get at the roots of the problem. Among those roots are structural ones in the selection of presidential candidates. The proposed by-laws would even further shift control of the process toward money and away from committed and interested activists.

And how can anyone take seriously a by-law that allows only the CURRENT national committee to amend the by-laws and then expires? I'm not saying having that power rest with the national committee is a good thing, but it's palpably corrupt for them to plump for a power that their successors will not have -- like Bloomberg getting a charter change to allow himself another term as mayor of New York.

The RNC shot itself in the foot [again]!!!

Prediction: The Tea Party takes over the GOP the way the Progressives have taken over the "D" party or there will be a new party next time around.

If this passes then the GOP is doomed and will go the way of the Whig Party. The Tea Party base will either take control of the Republican Party, or they will find a new home withing 1 or 2 election cycles. This Tea Party base represents 75% of the GOP. The GOP establishment that favored Romney all along only represents 25% of the party. That is why Romney could never get more than 25% of the vote during the primary season.

This has been going on in San Diego for about 6 years...they don't get it! They think money is the answer...California is blue because the conservative grassroots movement is disrespected. Hang in there in Tampa and thank you Texas for leading the charge!

The RNC apparently doesn't even care about *looking* ethical anymore. They'll openly cheat and steal to get their coronation of their chosen boy done without any chance of it being "spoiled" by any dissent, competition, or integrity.

They've tipped their hand completely, and revealed corruption just as deep as the Democrats.

To hell with that. This level of corruption is past remediation. Even if they win the election, and do us all the great service of repealing ObamaCare, they still will not ever get my vote.

It's not even worth sending them a message by writing in Ron Paul any more; they can't hear it and don't care. Dr. Paul's hope of trying to reform the party from within is shown to be unrealistic.

Gary Johnson gets my vote now.

The way the GOP has railroaded the Libertarian Party and Constitution Party's ballot access in certain states amazes me. I was part of the Republican Party for 21 years and am ashamed at the level of corruption in the current party. If they dont listen to you I, personally, want to welcome you to the Libertarian Party. At least for this one election. Gary Johnson is more than an adequate candidate and would follow the same path that Ron Paul is on. If Ron cannot endorse Romney, Im not sure how any of his fans could. I do admire working to make the Republican Party have a more Liberty based platform, but I have come to accept that the powers that be will not allow that to happen, at least right now. If you would like to send them a message about how popular Liberty is, please consider voting with the Libertarian Party in November. We are brothers of the same cloth and the US deserves a Liberty minded President.

Thanks

The blatant criminality of this federal election fraud by the rnc/gop and rombama is a testament to the fact that they are no different that the criminal usurper in the Whitehouse now, that they are not above breaking the federal election laws to alter the outcome of the election and fraud the american citizens out of a legal, constitutional, and just election process. They have done grave damage to the Republican Party and the Voting rights of every american citizen. This will not be tolerated.
