Across the country, RLC members mobilized to speak loudly for limited government and a shift in the priorities of our elected officials.  Several RLC-endorsed legislators (such as Justin Amash in Michigan and Bob Hedlund in Massachusetts) and RLC Officers in states such as Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Indiana, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia were featured speakers at the Tea Party events.

DC Tea Party — Washington, DC

It was a wet day in DC.  That didn’t stop Wall Street Journal editorial writer and economist Steve Moore from coming to the rally.

Birmingham and Tuscaloosa Tea Parties — Alabama

In both the Tuscaloosa and the Shelby County/Birmingham Tea Parties held on April 15, RLC members played vital roles in the successes of the events.  In Tuscaloosa, Alabama RLC Secretary Shana Kluck secured a speaking spot for former Washington Times assistant national editor and current freelance journalist Robert Stacy McCain.

Boston and Worcester Tea Parties — Massachusetts

Simmons College student and Ron Paul Republican Corie Whalen organized the Boston Tea Party.

Tucson Tea Party — Tucson, Arizona

Ken Rineer, Chair of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Pima County, attended the Tucson Tea Party.

Former RLC Vice Chair and President of U.S. Term Limits Philip Blumel was featured in a YouTube video put together by Marco Rubio.

Melbourne Tea Party — Brevard, Florida

Matthew D. Nye, Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Central East Florida, organized a spirited tax protest, which drew roughly 2,000 people to the Wickham Park Pavilion, in Melbourne, Florida.

“We gather here today to protest the printing of money and the devaluation of our currency in order to finance an orgy of spending — the likes of which has never been conceived before in this nation’s history,” said Nye.

Jacksonville Tea Party — Jacksonville, Florida

The RLC had a table at the Jacksonville Tea Party, operated by Sarah Lovett, Veronica Johnson, and Cliff Johnson.

Travis County RLC Chair Mike Barre addressed the crowd.  RLC National Chair Dave Nalle was at the event, too, and blogged about it.

Reston Tea Party — Reston, Virginia

The RLC National Secretary, Aaron Biterman, spoke at the Reston Tea Party in northern Virginia.  Despite the heavy rain and uncharacteristically cold weather, Aaron managed to take some photos at the event.
