I see why states need the money. I also see it they need to pay the police. Well Cops are not worth it. They don't do their jobs very well. Especially Sheriff Mascara and his St Lucie Deputies. Let me give you an example. When you talk to a private citizen you say Sir,Madam or Maam. You dont ever call them Jack! or by their first name. They read your drivers license and they call you by your first name. St Lucie Police officers always say Sir, Madam or Maam. And they replay saying yes sir or no sir. So by shopping at Amazon is like telling Sheriff Mascara YOURE FIRED! Im a voter and a taxpayer I should fire him if I want.

Senator Reid working President Obama's tax and spend agenda is working continuously to increase taxes to provide ever increasing revenues for the Obama big government machine. The American people must take a stand against these never ceasing tax increases to fund Obama's big government.

I was glad to see that Ebay sent out a notice, yesterday. This would basically shut down Ebay completely.

The Internet theft (tax) will invite more government control.
We are already smothered in too much big government regulation.
Taxed Enough Already.

I own a growing online furnishing company which I founded about 4 years ago, after losing my job in the recession. Since then, through sweat, sleepless nights and hard work, we built our company into a 10 million dollar business; and hired nearly a dozen employees in the process. Our average order costs us $200 to ship. We are already at a disadvantage when competing with a "local store" as they usually do not need to ship large pieces of furniture at the distances we are required to for our customers. Passing this "main street fairness act" actually unevens the playing field, as merchants such as myself, will now be incurring hefty delivery charges (which the locals do not incur), and collections sales tax. In truth, an even playing field currently does exist. Small brick and mortar stores that are suffering are not suffering because of the internet. As soon as this issue goes to rest they will find another excuse as to why their business is failing. I know many companies that leveraged a small brick and mortar store into a thriving business, simply due to the fact that they worked hard and took care of their customers. In conclusion, this will come at the expense of small businesses such as my own and the American consumer.

I am a retired vet with injuries that prevent me from getting a "normal" job in my trade (aviation mechanic). My only income is my small pension and my wife's internet-based business (she also works two days a week for just above minimum wage).
We are depending on the income we earn from the internet business to stay afloat. This bill will sink us.

Internet sales will now be the ones at a DISADVANTAGE, as shipping is also in play. When shopping online you have to weigh whether to pay S&H or taxed locally (if you can find the product locally).

Taxing internet sales is nothing but a business destroyer and should be stopped dead in its tracks. Small and medium sized businesses need to remain viable because they produce based on what's needed within respective communities and provide the bulk of jobs. Continually pandering to big businesses that manipulate with their money and push policies that are anti free-market is destroying this country and it's production capacity.

I could not possibly learn of every state, city, and county sales taxes. How would I send checks to 3,000 different government agencies? I would be sending 50 cents here, $3 there, it would be a nightmare.

I know single moms who support themselves and their children with their internet business. The internet tax would be disastrous to their and other businesses like theirs.

Also, the tax is only part of the problem. Just like Obama”care”, this bill imposes crushing reporting requirements that come with the same warnings that other IRS activities impose. Make a mistake in the opinion of the Commissioner and they will impose penalties. Don’t be funny because there is a $500 fine for “frivolous” reporting.
