Grassroots Republicans know who the most conservative candidate is and support that candidate, despite what the NRSC recommends. I was at a meeting today where Republican committee members were expressing outrage over the NRSC and the NRC support of Carly Fiorina over a proven successful conservative, Chuck DeVore.

The argument that the NRSC will make, I am sure, is that Carly Fiorina can fund a major campaign which will take several million $$ while DeVore is having trouble raising money. Well, if the NRC would support DeVore, he would be able to raise more money.

DeVore has a great majority of Republican grassroots support, despite the name and finances of Carly Fiorina. We need to get him elected.

IL is similar but different. The GOP is almost non-existent. Since 1970 it had been "the governors party" and Republican in name only. Corrupt Republican Gov George Ryan destroyed "the governor's party" in 1998. Nobody has been able to rebuild it because we don't have a GOP governor.

Remnants of that corrupt "governor's party" have convinced the NRSC to back nepotism in the 14th and Cap-n-Trade supporter Kirk for Senate. They get the money.

But the fault is ours. We knew the opportunities and had nobody prepared to be a strong candidate. We have weak ones. Thus we lose.
