Joyce Barrett: War is NOT the essential responsibility of the government. National defense is. The wars going on have NOTHING to do with defense. They are imperialist wars of aggression wrought by a government addicted to war and its spending. This seems to be why there is never any serious attempt to tame the spending. Simply put, Democrats spend for welfare; Republicans spend for war. Pulled between the two, the country is being (has been?) ruined.

Nr. Nalle, you speak from the heart of a Repbulican, not from the heart of the Grassroots Tea Party. I am a Tea Party Patriot from Georgia. I disagree with you. I am very happy with Sen. Rubio. I am proud that he refuses to cut the war and defense spending. This is one of the few essential responsibilites the governmnet should support. I have no doubt he would support a $100 million spending cut bill if the Congress would send it up. Sadly, the Tea Party Freshmen in Congress could not get this through the established republicans.
We feel Rubio is doing all he can with those big spenders he is surrounded by. We wish he had the power you think he has to change big government !
