Since 1991, the Republican Liberty Caucus has worked to change the Republican Party from the inside outward by advocating liberty principles and working to elect its members to various public offices and various Republican Party offices.
The only way to change public policy is to change elected officials. It is vital that we harness our anger in a positive way so we can put liberty on the fast track for victory as we head to the 2012 Republican primary for President of the United States.
Across the country, around 3,000 counties exist in our 50 states and each has a county Republican Party organization. Precinct Committee members exist in these counties. TheĀ positions, which are generally chosen at the local level, make up the people who determine which Republican primary candidates are successful in their bids for public office and the makeup of the Republican Party’s leadership. Of course, the Republican Party leadership determines what principles the party will follow.
The Republican Liberty Caucus hopes to empower its grassroots network to learn how to run for Precinct Committeeman and how to organize a Liberty Slate of Precinct candidates at the local and/or statewide level. By creating a “farm team” of passionate liberty advocates, we will be able to reshape the Republican Party from within and choose the best nominee for President in 2012.
