Basically we can't count on the Democrats at all, so we need to replace them entirely.

Opinion polls show that the majority of people want dramatic cuts to the size of government and understand our country is going over a financial cliff. If Democrats can't even agree on 100 billion in cuts, how can we expect to address a 1.5 trillion dollar deficit this year, or ever hope to pay off a 14 trillion dollar debt?

Dkbats. It's not about rewarding or punishing one or the other group. It's about establishing sound policy which treats all people equitably.

Am I just wrong in my thinking or is the Republican Party still supposed to represent the will of ALL OF THE PEOPLE, or is it just a portion of the people who side with the Republicans? Stop calling it the will of the people when you only represent a portion of the population. And while I am thinking about it, why is it that Republican leaders reward people for being rich and punish a much larger portion of the population for being poor?

It makes sense. Shut down government and stop paying soldiers who still have to be in the field in fights around the world, like Afghanistan. What a great move of genius this is by the Republicans.

It's abundantly clear that the GOP is gleefully living out its playground bully fantasies by making increasing demands of the Democrats and constantly moving the goals so that reasonable members of Congress can never reach them.

I will fight to my dying day to remove the Greedy Obstructionist Pig party members responsible for any shutdown.

I agree, shut it down. I am a constituent of Paul Broun, if he continues his RINO trend of being buddy-buddy with POS sleazeballs Nathan Deal and Gingrich, he'll lose my support.
