Don’t Believe the Hype. Meet the Real Rick Perry
Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas Sends Warning to Republicans Nationwide About Perry’s Tax and Spend Record
AUSTIN, TX – Texas Governor Rick Perry may be the flavor of the day for a lot of Republicans, but Texas Republicans who are familiar with his record are a lot less enthusiastic about his presidential run. “Perry has a unique talent for finding new ways to raise taxes and loves to use taxpayer money to subsidize his business cronies,” says Secretary Dave Nalle of the Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas. “His supposed belief in limited government and states rights conveniently disappears whenever it conflicts with the demands of the special interests and corporate cronies who he serves.”
Governor Perry’s record of big government, big spending, big taxing and attacks on the fundamental rights of Texas citizens is a familiar to Texans, but seems to be much less well known to Republicans outside of the state, which may explain his high initial showing in the polls. The Republican Liberty Caucus of Texas is compiling a complete dossier on Perry to share with fellow Republicans outside their state so that they can be informed about what they are being sold in a Perry presidential candidacy.
The file on Perry’s abuses of power, insider deals with cronies and tax and spend policies is thick, but for a start here are what Texas RLC members voted as the top five Perry scandals which GOP primary voters need to know more about:
- 1. Business Slush Funds: Perry made heavy use of business incentive “slush funds” which used taxpayer dollars to subsidize selected businesses, many of them run by his major campaign contributors. Just two of these funds, the Texas Enterprise Fund and the Texas Emerging Growth fund, spent over $700 million to subsidize businesses to move to Texas or expand operations in Texas, with little evidence that these handouts of taxpayer money produced job or revenue growth anywhere near sufficient to justify the expense. In fact, many of these businesses eventually downsized or relocated long before they had earned the money Perry gave them, or even went bankrupt with $25 million fund dollars like Countrywide Financial. source
- 2. Toll Roads and Land Seizures Perry has never met a toll road project he wasn’t willing to seize huge amounts of private land for and then give the exclusive management contracts to foreign corporations. Perry’s time in office has set records for eminent domain land seizures – over a million acres have been seized. His toll road projects have confiscated family farms and torn communities apart. Toll roads have been used as a massive off-the-books tax program, taking money from Texas drivers and feeding it to foreign financial interests and management groups which lobbied the governor for special deals which produce much higher tolls and higher profits than are typical in other states. source
- 3. Forced Vaccinations: In 2007 Perry issued an executive order which would have forcibly vaccinated every girl in Texas entering the sixth grade with Merck’s Gardasil vaccine for Human Papilloma Virus. This massive violation of the privacy rights of Texas teenagers and their parents would have come at a cost of $360 in taxpayer money per shot. It would have been a huge windfall for Merck, which had paid Perry’s former Chief of Staff $250,000 to lobby the governor and legislature to promote the forced vaccination program. source
- 4. The Job-Killing Franchise Tax: Knowing that it would be impossible to pass an income tax against popular opposition in Texas, Perry promoted the idea of a special business tax called the “Franchise Tax” which taxes businesses at different arbitrary rates set by the government. This tax expands business taxes to types of businesses which are not taxed in most states and in many cases taxes small businesses more than large corporations they compete with. For example it taxes small car repair shops at double the rate it taxes large dealerships for car repairs. It’s a small business and job killer. source
- 5. Scuttled the Anti-TSA Bill When Rep. David Simpson led the Texas legislature towards passage of an enormously popular bill (HB1938) to hold the TSA accountable for intrusive searches of airline passengers, Perry played a key role in making sure that the bill was not passed. When the TSA and the Justice Department began pressuring him, although Perry had promised to submit the bill to the special legislative session, he delayed submitting the bill until it was so late in the session that it was virtually impossible to hold the constitutionally mandated votes necessary for passage. That way he could score points with the public for submitting the popular bill while at the same time making sure that it wouldn’t pass. It’s a classic example of Perry’s insincere pandering. source
Don’t be fooled by campaign hype. If Perry says he’ll cut taxes or get government off our back, look up his real record. Look up his past statements. He supported TARP. He supported the bailouts. He was even Al Gore’s Texas campaign manager back in 1988. A vote for Perry in the Republican primary is a vote for more big government and more taxes and more of the the same deficits and irresponsibility we had for 12 years under Bush and Obama. The Republican Party and the nation need real leadership, not more of the same with a nicer head of hair.
RLC of Texas Chairman Judson Vandiver asks, “Let’s hope Republicans outside Texas see through all the hype. Let’s all say to to Perry what he said to a Texas state trooper when he tried to bully her after she pulled him over for speeding YouTube: ‘Why don’t you just let us get on down the road?’”

Would you rather have another four years with the Marxist buffoon at the helm? Get real!
On August 13th, 2011 at 4:24 pm
As if that was the only option….”either vote for Mexico’s best friend and neocon warmonger, Rick Perry, or the ‘Marxist’. Talk about closed minded.”
On August 13th, 2011 at 8:03 pm
Thanks Mr Truth–and yes, RLC forgot the Illegals special treatment and instate tuition he promotes after campaigning the opposite–and don’t get foole dby the public prayer that so many texans get taken in by–he is aphony Christian and the “dirt” stories are worse than Clinton if true
On August 13th, 2011 at 9:34 pm
Good to be informed. Thank you for the information, as msm only lets you know what they want you to know. hmmm Marxist or neocon…think they are both evil and won’t support either! Go Ron Paul!
On August 13th, 2011 at 9:37 pm
1) so Texans are employed
2) So Texans can evacuate hurricanes, because The Feds don’t help
3) The vaccinations show he loves and cares, good qualities, it made well known the availability of an anti-cancer drug which most have opted to take now- good for him
4) Funny, you say job killing, yet Texas created more than anywhere else
5) The TSA threats got Democrats like yourself to vote against the bill
Dude, your fish bait is so old it smells, you can’t expect anyone to buy what you’re trying to sell can you
Signed a Texan
Edited to say OOps sorry for calling you a Democrat, I usually don’t curse, but I have a tough time telling a Democrat from a RINO sometimes.
Perry has a good “track record” bends over nor bows for no one, and gets things done. Perry shows qualities of loving/caring, (guardasil, his dog, mortgages, jobs etc) and protecting (borders//dogs/citizens)
On August 13th, 2011 at 11:13 pm
1. Business Slush Funds: You mean like when Obama confiscated Chrysler and GM and gifted them to his union cronies? Are you insinuating that Perry broke the law? Send out subpoenas if you think he did, until then keep your scurrilous misrepresentations to yourself.
2. Toll Roads and Land Seizures: Who owned all the land that current Texas highways are built on? Families that had their property bought up or seized by the government. Land owners would have had the opportunity to collect some of the toll revenue supplying a 50 year income stream if they opted to chose that method of participation. Regardless TTC is dead.
3. Forced Vaccinations: Flat out lie, anyone could have opted out. What kind of hack are you? You might want to consider changing your moniker.
4. The Job-Killing Franchise Tax: So that’s why Texas produced the vast majority of all the jobs in the entire nation and why California corporations are leaving for Texas? No state income tax, Perry fought democrats to lower property tax rates and won even when the democrats left the state like cowards to delay a vote. Texas has been a boom state since WWII and is still leading the nation in job growth. The recession has been much much milder in Texas, a right to work state. This one is pure fantasy.
5. Scuttled the Anti-TSA Bill: Seriously, is that all you got?

Ron Paul came off looking a little flakey where Iran is concerned. The difference between Iran and Russia having the bomb is Iran has a crazy religious nut bag that wants to bring on armageddeon. Paul seems to think we can ignore them and they will go away. I think not. Sorry but Paul will never get the GOP nod.

I think it is irresponsible of you to put out negative opinions out there about Gov. Rick Perry. He has done wonderful things for the State of Texas and we here in Louisiana have been noticing for a long time now. We have even loss business start ups to Texas because of their business friendly atmosphere. Louisiana hasn’t learned there lesson here. I will be interested in hearing more from him. I’m looking to support a Perry/Bachman or Bachman/Perry, or Perry/Cain or Cain/Perry ticket.
On August 14th, 2011 at 4:27 am
This Iran thing is so stupid. Israel could easily reduce Iran to ashes.
If Ron Paul were president, and Iran started “armageddeon” Israel would destroy the place. Remember, the 6 day war was preemptive. America would NOT intervene.
It is true that Iran can’t make enough gasoline for its population.Their technology is nowhere near that of Russia or China. Russia is becoming more unstable and China is already hinting at a new reserve currency. I’ll certainly worry more about China than Iran.
On August 14th, 2011 at 4:42 am
1. Business Slush Funds: You mean like when Obama confiscated Chrysler
and GM and gifted them to his union cronies? Are you insinuating that
Perry broke the law? Send out subpoenas if you think he did, until then
keep your scurrilous misrepresentations to yourself.
You don’t have to break the law to make bad policy. Underwriting businesses with tax dollars with no requirement that they follow through on the job creation and tax base expansion they promise is a terrible waste of taxpayer money. Are you a Republican or just a big business Democrat?
2. Toll Roads
and Land Seizures: Who owned all the land that current Texas highways
are built on? Families that had their property bought up or seized by
the government. Land owners would have had the opportunity to collect
some of the toll revenue supplying a 50 year income stream if they opted
to chose that method of participation. Regardless TTC is dead.
And TTC has left behind a network of overpriced toll roads which are unnecessary and suck money out of the pockets of drivers and into the bank accounts of foreign corporations.
3. Forced
Vaccinations: Flat out lie, anyone could have opted out. What kind of
hack are you? You might want to consider changing your moniker.
The opt-out option was not included in the original executive order and was only added after criticism, and regardless the plan still would have used millions of taxpayer dollars to pay for these unnecessary innoculations. This is not what government should be doing.
4. The
Job-Killing Franchise Tax: So that’s why Texas produced the vast
majority of all the jobs in the entire nation and why California
corporations are leaving for Texas? No state income tax, Perry fought
democrats to lower property tax rates and won even when the democrats
left the state like cowards to delay a vote. Texas has been a boom state
since WWII and is still leading the nation in job growth. The recession
has been much much milder in Texas, a right to work state. This one is
pure fantasy.
Do you live in Texas? Do you follow economic statistics? Our unemployment is now above the nationwide median and we pay more in taxes than we ever have before. Creating a new anti-business tax in order not to raise another tax is not lowering taxes.
5. Scuttled the Anti-TSA Bill: Seriously, is that all
you got?
No, we had about 30 items, but our members, who worked very hard on the anti-TSA bill, considered it important.
On August 14th, 2011 at 6:11 am
Yes I live in Texas and I am smart enough to realize that our unemployment numbers have thousands of people that moved to Texas for jobs added into them while states showing lower numbers have thousands of people off their count because those people moved to Texas. Tell me what your agenda really is. Are you trying to keep Obama in office or are you just a bunch of Ron Paul loonies trying to smear Perry because everyone knows Paul should be in a home somewhere?
On August 14th, 2011 at 6:15 am
I’m telling you folks, this is all just a smear campaign put on by the Ron Paul loonies. They would rather see Obama have another four years than than admit that Paul is senile!
On August 14th, 2011 at 6:19 am
Of course you guys in Louisiana love what Rick Perry is doing for Texas. He refuses to allow casino gambling here in our state so Texans are forced to do it in Louisiana which injects millions into your economy.
On August 14th, 2011 at 6:22 am
Paul’s point was that Iran hates us because we have been nosing ourselves into their business since the 50′s. The Shah was hated and was a brutal dictator which we installed into their government. Of course they hate us we caused a lot of their problems. If we leave them alone they would leave us alone.
On August 14th, 2011 at 6:26 am
Rick Perry is not well liked here. Twice he has won the Republican primary by a slim majority. In 2010 he won with only 51% in a 3 way race among Republican voters in a primary. Not a great show of support by Republicans in his home state.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:34 am
There is more to Rick Perry than this even. He was ‘anointed’ and you notice that last night on FOX, every time they talked about the two winners of the poll in Iowa, they would cut away to Perry? Those backing him own the media and the brainwashing and build up in the press has already begun… you are going to have this charlatan thrown at you morning noon and night… which ought to tell you he IS NOT who to vote for!
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:34 am
There isn’t much difference between Perry and Obama… same people control them… he was just vetted by the same people.

Read it and weep… and it doesn’t even cover some questionable personal stuff. Face it, this guy is Elmer Gantry.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:36 am
Yup it’s called ‘crony capitalism’ and this guy is almost as bad as The Donald.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:37 am
We’re smart enough to know who put Perry up to run and that he is a fake… all that stupid talk of secession and Christianity… either he’s pandering to the false image of the tea party that was created in the press or he’s been instructed to make fun of them so one of their other globalist pukes can get elected.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:39 am
Ask the Texas Tea Party what they think of Perry… they do not like him. There are only TWO candidates up there, with a chance, who don’t answer to the global elites… and they just won the Iowa poll… they are two people who will call you on the phone personally. They are not phony and not controlled by some international cabal.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:40 am
Nothing to do with Ron Paul… you are having Iowa Poll Envy.. Bachmann is also someone who is much more desirable because she is HONEST and REAL. Perry is a fake.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:41 am
What constitutionalist would FORCE young girls to take vaccines that have proven to KILL? He cares? He did it because his best friend is a lobbyist for MERCK and he wanted to help him sell PRODUCT. How naive can you be… and he did it by special order… that’s a dictatorship.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:43 am
NO Ron Paul would have the congress DECLARE WAR if it was necessary to go to war… and he wouldn’t tolerate any attacks on this country… nor at the border where Mexicans are imposing their own sort of imperialism upon us.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:44 am
Pretty much true. Bachmann and Paul are the only two who are not owned by the cabal of international bankers and elitists who will make sure our country is dumbed down and integrated so our wealth can be redistributed globally.
On August 14th, 2011 at 11:45 am
Yes! The tea party will not mention that because they can’t substantiate the stories but we hear that he is just like Clinton in that respect. I think he’s fooled a lot of religious types too, with this sudden Christianity thing, totally fake…
On August 14th, 2011 at 2:42 pm
Actually, 51% in a 3 way race is better than decent. He garnered more than half the votes cast when anything over 34% would have won the primary for him. Your comments rate about has high as the over the top undocumented comments in this commentary.
On August 14th, 2011 at 2:45 pm
All of the above does not disqualify Rick Perry from becoming President. You forget to mention any of the positive. He has won 3 terms as Governor of Texas, Texas is the only state in the Union anyone can find a job in to mention just a couple. I also, love his faith in God and the prayer meeting where 30,000 people showed up, not forgetting to mention thousands of other smaller meetings across the US.
He is the man of the hour and I believe the man for the job. My vote goes to Rick Perry for President!
On August 14th, 2011 at 2:58 pm
I will not support Rick Perry. We need someone who will follow the constitution. Rick Perry caved to the DOJ on the TSA bill and then lied that he didn’t know that it had full support in the house. No way now how would I ever vote for this guy. I am a precinct chair, county and state delegate. Rick Perry was and still is democrat.

Let’s not forget that his putting his personal gains above those of the state have destroyed public education. Thousands of teachers have lost their jobs, fine arts programs have been cut due to lack of funds, and class sizes are almost to 40 students per teacher in the secondary levels in many schools. This year, districts lost 27 million dollars in funding. Fort Bend ISD lost 27 million. Every district in Texas is in crisis. Perry has had years to address the school finance issue. In 2005, property taxes were frozen. 6 years later, districts are operating on the same budget they did then, despite growth and cost increases. School districts across the state have sued Perry more than once for not funding state mandates in education. Every legislative session, the politicians put off addressing this critical issue. Noone is willing to stand up to lobbyists and do what is best for our schools. Wait until the next unemployment figures come out..I guaratee they will have risen simply because of the layoffs in education. Check it out for yourself…www.texasisd.com

Dead on, Newstudent32. Perry’s repressive moralistic agenda is great for neighboring states with sensible laws on things like gambling.
On August 14th, 2011 at 3:38 pm
We just want voters to be informed. We may end up with no better option than Perry at the end of the primary and he’s certainly better than Obama, but voters in other states ought to be informed about his shortcomings.

The TSA bill was not killed by Governor Perry is was killed by DAVID DEWHURST! HE pulled it off the floor when the TSA showed up with a letter threatening to shut down passenger flights in Texas. Blaming the TSA issue on Perry is giving Dewhurst and Straus a pass. What are you a RINO?

Amusing that some of the most ardent Perry supports here are those who are so easily duped that they’ve swallowed the fake “Obama is a marxist” hook, line and sinker.
On August 14th, 2011 at 7:36 pm
Sadly the employment figures which Texas enjoyed through most of the recession have not held up and we now have above average unemployment.
On August 14th, 2011 at 7:55 pm
37 pct of the jobs created are min wage or below, with no benefits.
There will be approx 6,000 layoffs in Texas state agencies in the upcoming 2012-13 year.
Public school budgets have been gutted, thousands of teachers laid off or about to be laid off.
Some areas of Texas have unemployment as high as 12 pct.
Texas is #1 in nation for min wage workers, 50th in # of HS graduates, 50th in pct of non-elderly women with healthcare, 50th in # of pregnant women with prenatal care; #1 in number of people with NO health insurance, #1 in five categories of air pollution.
Texas is tied with Alabama for being 4th highest in number of children living in poverty at 32 pct.
One of 3 wage earners in Texas earns too little to keep a family of four out of the poverty level.
Perry has delayed 4.8 million in Medicaid funding. He’s left Texas with a $27 billion deficit, approximately one-third of Texas’ budget.
Services for the poor and mental health programs are being gutted, and community colleges will be closing, as will many nursing homes.
But let me assure you, he DIDN’T NEGLECT TO PASS THE BILL GIVING A TAX BREAK TO THOSE BUYING MEGA-YACHTS. Yes, folks, that’s correct: Mega-yachts.
In Perry’s home county, 21 farms in their ZIP code received more than $1 million in federal subsidies between 1995 and 2010. Perry himself received almost $10k in the 90s for his own acreage. His tax returns from when he was in the Legislature show he received $72,687 in agricultural program payments between 1987 and 1989, when he was farming his land. His father, J.R., received a total of $6,443 in cotton and wheat subsidies in 2002 and 2003. Yet he is “against” subsidies for farmers now. Hypocrisy, anyone?
And no, spin it all you like, “MOST” girls have NOT gotten the Gardasil vaccination. It was nothing more than a scam on the public to put more money in certain pockets, friends of Perry’s. Maybe someone could find out how much Merck paid Perry for “favors”.
Rick Perry can’t run ONE state, why would anyone want to let him try to run FIFTY?
On August 14th, 2011 at 8:02 pm
Oh you probably believe the Sun Goddess had sex with the emperor of Japan, Oprah is the anti-Christ, and all of Hitler’s brownshirts were gay men because “gay men are more savageeeee”, right? I’ve lived in Texas for 41 years. Perry is a fake Christian, he’s doing this to get votes, and if you fall for it, you’re pathetic.
Oh, the 30,000 at the prayer meeting? I give much greater credence and importance to the 100,000 that showed up next door for school supplies for their children.

Rick Perry would certainly not be better than Obama. As a true Libertarian, I would take Obama’s flawed economic theory over Rick Perry’s flawed economic theory PLUS his ridiculous views on social issues. He wants Lawrence v. Texas overturned, he used official government websites for his “Day of Prayer” and supports a much larger government than Obama, as is made evident by his desire to create a Big Brother like government to make sure sex is only used for procreation. While Rick Perry might be the perfect ruler of Iran or Saudi Arabia, America does not need a religious extremist attempting to instill their beliefs into everyone else’s personal lives. Perhaps the Texan politicians should stay in Texas. Give me a Gary Johnson or a Fred Karger, and keep the Perrys, Bachmanns, Pauls, and Santorums in their home states.
On August 14th, 2011 at 8:54 pm
Everyone of the things you have stated above can be rebutted. I disagree with your comments. I believe Rick Perry will be our next President. He is the man of the hour.
On August 14th, 2011 at 8:55 pm
Well, it’s about time the media finally woke up! LOL! I’d rather see them pushing Perry than pushing obama! Kind of refreshing, yes?
On August 14th, 2011 at 9:16 pm
Actually, it would require 51% to win a majority. A 3-way-race could also end up at 60% to 39% to 1%. Would you argue that the candidate with 39% won because it is more than the magical number 34 that you came up with? Perhaps a few lessons in arithmetic would help you discuss grown up topics like politics. Although I can see why you would support Perry. You obviously support segregation and religious fundamentalism as evidenced by your lovely photo of the American and Israeli flag.

Do you really think Rick Perry falls in line with constitutional principles? The guy try to mandate that every young girl get the HPV gardasil vaccine. He also attended Bilderberg back in 2007. Has this guy heard of the Logan Act? What about the Trans Texas Corridor and his support for taking land through Eminent Domain Powers for the project. Not to mention he is George Bush 2.0. It sends shivers down my spine when I hear him talk. It is like 2000 all over again. Seriously the Republicans need to wake up. How can any conservative support this guy?
On a side note the guy supported Al Gore’s Presidential Campaign at one time.

I like to say there a few crazy christian pastors, one in Texas for sure, that supports bombing and starting another war in the middle east to bring on the coming of Christ. Is that not crazy???

I read some time ago that Perry was soft on illegal aliens and would give them all a fast tract to citizenship; and further that he did not want to enforce our border laws.
Is that true?
On August 15th, 2011 at 1:12 am
Excellent. The voters need to be warned NOt to make mistakes of the past. The era of big government Progressive RINO’s has come and gone. We haven’t been fooled by Perry, who has the gall to present himself as a Conservative. He profanes the name.
On August 15th, 2011 at 1:13 am
We have other, better alternatives than Perry. Get REAL!
On August 15th, 2011 at 1:39 am
People better pay attention to those in Texas that know him. Arkansas people tried to let everyone know that Bill Clinton was a shyster and a sleaze bag, but nobody listened. Pay Attention to those who know! NO PERRY IN 2012!
On August 15th, 2011 at 2:27 am
Although I do not live in Texas. I was born in Texas. I am 33 year old christian mother of 3 boys, have my own business and I am as conservative and constitutional as you get. I drank the cool-aid of Bush for 2 terms and voted for the socialist neo-con, so I am no lefty. I just finally took the rose color glasses off and woke up to reality. Rick Perry is a neo-con pond of the world elites. How do you defend him going to Bilderberg in 2007 and him supporting the Trans Texas corridor?
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:25 am
Dude that was a cheap-shot bordering on racist comment you made about the flag pic. Maybe someone is just proud of their American-Jewish heritage or something. What is the purpose of hurling insults anyways? This is a time when we need to collectively pull up our bootstraps and work together as Americans and put aside all if this childish bickering. Just because you don’t particularly like Rick Perry shouldn’t give you license to hurl insults like that…there has been way too much of that shit going on.
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:30 am
And you know Perry is fake HOW? Because you’ve read it some article somewhere written by a pissed-off columnist on a smear campaign? I think it would be a good idea that before you, too, go to putting words in people’s mouths that you provide some form of proof to your words, like Kelly Cannon did above…actually Kelly just provided a link to debunk this article, but you could do the same with something which proves that Perry is a fake…
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:31 am
Proof?
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:32 am
Do you even know the first thing about Nepolianic Law?
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:32 am
I am a very proud Jew, but if I would like to acknowledge that, I would put the Star of David, not the flag of a country that subsidises the communal living of the religious with America’s money, and segregates Jews from Arabs and discriminates against Arabs in education and every other form of daily life. Go see about applying for a job in Israel as an Arab. They also have less access to healthcare and state assistance. And the only thing racist in this conversation is the glorification of Israel.
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:34 am
And it is fake how? Prove it.
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:38 am
Every district in every state in the country is experiencing the same issues you describe…Texas is not unique in that. Have you been following the news from Wisconsin? The media has turned that into an anti-union circus when what it’s really all about is Wisconsin is broke and needs to make budget cuts and unionized public workers are at the front of the line.

On August 15th, 2011 at 3:43 am
I think you’ve broken the code PeeWee…what else could it be besides a bunch of lame-ass posers anyways?
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:45 am
This is pretty funny too. I am not an alex jones fan, but for him to make this video June 21 saying for sure Rick Perry was running, after he pledge not to run earlier is pretty darn good. Plus he had it in his film 3 1/2 years ago that bilderberg grooming him for the Presidency: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB8evaZ7zDI&feature=player_embedded
On August 15th, 2011 at 3:47 am
Why is that? I’m a warmonger too. And it’s about to be open season on the current administration.
On August 15th, 2011 at 4:04 am
I just don’t want America to elect this guy or Obama. Have you ever researched the Bilderberg? Do you understand the power of the Federal Reserve and the Banking system? Once you research this, you will understand most politicians are controlled by the world elites. Do you hear Rick Perry talking about the Federal Reserve?
I recommend everyone watch America: Freedom to Fascism. You will understand the power and history of the Federal Reserve and Income Tax: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1656880303867390173
I also recommend reading this book: The Creature from Jekyll Island. This is also book of the creation of the Federal Reserve.
Like I said, I am a 33 year christian mom of 3 boys, have my own business and voted for Bush 2 times (I am not proud of that now. It is very hard for me to even type that online.) I have been a conservative all my life and started listening to Rush Limbaugh at 14 (when he was selling his colorful ties…lol). I have spent the last 4 years researching the truth of what is going on in this country. Republicans need to wake up to reality. We cannot afford George Bush 2.0 (Rick Perry) or Obama.

Actually no that’s not how it works. If you believe a far-fetched THEORY it is up to you to prove it is true, not the other way around.

How can you not be scared to death of his fanatical religious extremism? (or Bachmann’s for that matter)?? Do you actually know what Dominionism is? Presumably you are trying to choose a future president and world leader… of all races and creeds… not your next pastor.
On August 15th, 2011 at 9:51 am
refreshing as Obama’s face in the morning. Just a continuation in a different suit.
On August 15th, 2011 at 10:00 am
Ron Paul who just won the “king maker” poll, only 1% under Bachmann who had a famous country singer in her tent and talked endlessly about Iowa being her childhood home…Paul is the only chance we have from the bought and paid for crowd. The time is late late late!

Hey! can’t we thank The Donald for getting that pesky birth certificate gig out of the way? Many say he was put in to do the job and was not serious about running for president. A cozy deal with the administration and banks?

Larry, all the people who worked on this press release live in Texas, in several different locations. We know and aren’t entirely impressed with Rick Perry.
On August 15th, 2011 at 5:56 pm
Okay well we knew this kind of stuff was coming. Kind of like the lefties screaming HALLIBURTON at Cheney when it all amounted to a big ZERO. To the author, if this is only your opinion, why put it under the RLC Banner, thereby trying to make it look official or something.
On August 15th, 2011 at 5:59 pm

On August 15th, 2011 at 7:47 pm
Why don’t you people tell everyone who you really are and if you don’t have anything NEW to say – stop repeating yourselves. You sound just like the Dems. Got your talking points and can’t say anything else. Why don’t you tell everyone that you really support Ron Paul – the one that really wants to send us back to the 19th century.
On August 15th, 2011 at 7:55 pm
And it’s obvious that YOU aren’t wise enough to know that EVERYONE in DC belongs to them, or the Tri-lateral Commission, or any one of the other organizations that all say and do the same thing. Are you wise enough to know that the ONLY President that we’ve had in the last 100 yrs that was NOT a member of any of those organizations – publicly or privately – was Ronald Reagan? But he was still surrounded by THEM because all of his admin was loaded with them! This country can’t stand another 4 yrs of Obama – so pull your head pout and wise up!
He was once a Democrap – then found out (thanks to Gore) what they are really about and switched parties. By the way, do you live in TX? I do and have for a lot of yrs. If he’s so bad why did he get re-elected some many times and with such wide margins?
On August 15th, 2011 at 7:56 pm
Exactly my comments above! Thank you!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:00 pm
You really should learn history before you make statements like you did. You may have been born here, but you certainly don’t live here – that is obvious to all of us that do live here. Enjoy where ever you live!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:03 pm
You really need to learn a lot more about the Bilderbergs and the other organizations like them. We have not had a President elected (in the last 100 yrs) that didn’t belong to one of them or was supported by one or all of them! Ronald Reagan did NOT belong, but was approved and surrounded by members. Pull your head out!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:05 pm
Not impressed with Perry, but you voted for him! Ron Paul supporters, admit it!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:08 pm
Hey, speak for your self! Texans do like Perry! 51% in a 3 way race and one in that race was Kay Baily Hutcheson? Small margin? You must be a Dem with that fuzz math.
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:09 pm
Thank you! You called that one just right!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:13 pm
Religious fundamentalism – what’s wrong with that? This country was built on that. You are quite obviously not into any kind of real history! Segregation? Where did you come up with that? Some off the wall article like the one here? Figures! You must be a Dem.
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:17 pm
You made be of Jewish decent, but not a good one that’s for sure. If you don’t like this country – why don’t you leave it? Canada might be right up your lefty side!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:20 pm
This country was actually built on religious freedom. The founding fathers were Deists, VERY different from the Puritanical views most of their contemporaries had. And go to Israel. I can assure you, you will see the segregation that is quite worse than America in the 50′s. And actually, I am not, nor have I ever been a Democrat. I am a Libertarian who believes in freedom and a limited government. I don’t believe in the massive spending that Republicans and Democrats push.
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:20 pm
If you read the ones below, they tell you you’re wrong AGAIN! Everytime you’ve ‘opened your mouth’ it’s been shut for you. Like I said you must be a Dem!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:25 pm
And has accomplished NOTHING in Congress for her home state or this country. Same exact kind of record Obama had when He got elected – and look what we’ve been stuck with!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:27 pm
Are you criticising my religious beliefs? Seriously? And I have left the US. I live in the UK. And with all of their problems, at least they aren’t a bunch of religious psychos pretending to support a small government, while honestly spending more money and expanding government’s role in people’s daily life more than those they oppose. However, I still maintain my US citizenship, and pay my taxes. Why vote for Perry? David Duke seems right up your alley.
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:28 pm
And WND has reported many times that Kissenger and others in the Bilderbergs have been grooming Obama to lead the One World Order! Check it out before you open your mouth and stick your foot in it again!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:33 pm
Only a Dem! What do you think Obama is? And you go to a lefty website to get it. Wow. Real impressive. Shows how Dems really think.
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:36 pm
Better to have fundmentalist morals than to have none at all like Obama! Yeah, morals are a real problem for Dems!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:41 pm
Thousands of teachers lost their jobs because the school districts didn’t manage their money AND because the teachers unions pushed to keep the seniority system in tack. You are blaming Perry instead of the people that actually controlled the money on the local level! Get it right! A lot of teachers don’t deserve to be in the classroom because they are awful teachers! Those are the facts. And NOT every school district is in trouble, only those that were mis-mangaged on the local level. Ours is fine!

On August 15th, 2011 at 8:47 pm
How much proof do you need? Just take a look at what Obama had done (or not done) to this country! Wow. Are you really drinking the Obama kool-aid at this point? Blind and playing follow the leader of Obama right off the cliff!
On August 15th, 2011 at 8:58 pm
Mexico’s best friend? That would be Obama and his admin. They REFUSE to enforce our Immigration laws already on the books because they want the votes. Yup, we have a lot more illegals here in Texas, but we also deport more of them. We also have the longest border with Mexico of all the border states! You are the closed minded one!
On August 15th, 2011 at 9:00 pm
Don’t place your bets on that one! Of course, Paul would have us living back in the very early 20th century id he had his way! But you believe the lies if you want. Why don’t you just admit you’re a Dem or a Paul supporter!
On August 15th, 2011 at 9:02 pm
There’s a world of difference between the two, but YOU have closed YOUR eyes and mind – typical Dem.
On August 15th, 2011 at 9:05 pm
I live in Texas and YOU are dead wrong! But we already know that you are a Dem or a Paul supporter – either way, Dave, you are a loser!
On August 15th, 2011 at 9:07 pm
Getting the BC gig out of the way? Really? They just whipped up another forged piece of paper. Are you people really drinking that much Obama kool-aid? WOW!
On August 15th, 2011 at 9:12 pm
You, unfortunately are correct. We have NO PERSONAL INCOME TAX, great place to live, friendly people, and a nut case like Ron Paul! If we’ve got it so bad, why were 40% of the jobs - not government jobs like Obama created – created here in Texas? That’s 40% for the WHOLE nation!
On August 15th, 2011 at 9:14 pm
You want people to be informed – that’s what you said? Then get it right and be truthful. Don’t another nutcase. Do you even live here in Texas or are you getting your info from Ron Paul’s group – or are you Ron Paul’s group?
On August 15th, 2011 at 9:24 pm
And YOU don’t know your history! Texas is the only state in the Union that can legally seceed from the Union as WE are the only state that was a real country on our own. Nor does our state flag have to fly lower or be dipped to the US Flag! And exactly what is wrong with Christianity? Are you an atheist? Perry doesn’t have to ‘pander’ to anyone. But I wouldn’t expect a Dem to know that or a Ron Paul fan!
On August 15th, 2011 at 10:49 pm

I am also a recovering Liberal Democrat, I too saw the light, seeing all the abuse in the system, the entitlement mentality, so many playing the system receiving benefits from welfare, SSI/SSA/ child care ( Head Start ), etc., able bodied people who were capable of working and just didn’t want to.
On August 16th, 2011 at 1:00 am
I lived in Israel and what I saw there was incredible religious diversity. On the streets of Jerusalem you see Muslims, Greek Orthodox priests, nuns of various kinds, Christian visiting the holy sites and etc. Christians are allowed to proselytize (a young Jewish friend of mine began to study Christianity after attending an information session.) And it is a myth that only Jews can immigrate. I am not Jewish but was granted citizenship.
On August 16th, 2011 at 1:06 am
GrayBaker, Arabs serve in the Knesset as Members of Knesset, they own businesses sometimes employing Jews, they attend the universities, they rise in Israeli society through the arts or commerce and become extremely successful. Yes, there may be some discrimination and prejudice. It is impossible to erase all discrimination and prejudice from a society. But the important point is there is no institutional racism that I know of in Israel. And where do you get the idea that there is any INSTITUTIONAL segregation of Jews and Arabs in Israel?
On August 16th, 2011 at 1:13 am
That Alex Jones video is a hoot. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. What a silly man…
On August 16th, 2011 at 2:06 am
Hello I am not a Democrat!!!
On August 16th, 2011 at 2:22 am
Oh come now. Just look at the schools the Jews attend, and those the Arabs attend. Look at the quality and money given. Look at the fact that those who do not serve in the IDF are not eligible for many jobs and social services unless they receive an exemption. Look at the way the Haredi are subsidised. Israel needs to develop a sustainable economy because they are dependent upon the aid the US gives them. When you grant certain rights, such as subsidised living, to some groups based upon their religion, that is institutional racism.

On August 16th, 2011 at 2:50 am
Your Ha’aretz article concerns residents of the West Bank, not Israel proper and Palestinians not Israeli Arabs. It is hardly a powerful illustration of your argument.
Yes, subsidies for the Haridim are one of Israel’s big mistakes but most secular Israelis oppose them and over the years they have been reduced. Haridi men now serve in the IDF for example.
The biggest clunker in your reply, however, is this idea that Israel is dependent on US aid because it doesn’t have a “sustainable economy.” Israel’s economy has been booming for at least the last five years. It grew at the rate of 5% last quarter. That’s in part because of its stunning work in high tech and bio tech. All the big US high tech companies are now based there — despite the wars and the possibility of Iranian annihilation.
The US gives Israel 3 billion a year. Hardly enough to become dependent on. Besides, it’s a toss up who needs the money more at this point: Israel spends most of that aid in American arms firms like Lockheed. I don’t think the folks at Lockheed would be too thrilled at losing 3 billion worth of business.
On August 16th, 2011 at 2:55 am

Don’t be so gullible and misinformed. In the 2006 general election Perry only garnished 37% of the vote. I hardly consider that election year a wide margin of victory. Perry barely escaped with that win. People were fed up with him then and they are plenty fed up with him still. Rick Perry could care less about you buddy!
On August 17th, 2011 at 12:58 am
So you like Perry’s social programs for illegals in Texas?
On August 17th, 2011 at 1:01 am
Good points. Pick Perry is not a “conservative”. He is a career politician and will cater to shadow government.
On August 17th, 2011 at 3:37 pm
Excuse me swimmer gal, but did you READ this post or just the comments?
1. Business Slush Funds: Perry made heavy use of
business incentive “slush funds” which used taxpayer dollars to
subsidize selected businesses, many of them run by his major campaign
contributors. Just two of these funds, the Texas Enterprise Fund and
the Texas Emerging Growth fund, spent over $700 million to subsidize
businesses to move to Texas or expand operations in Texas, with little
evidence that these handouts of taxpayer money produced job or revenue
growth anywhere near sufficient to justify the expense. In fact,
many of these businesses eventually downsized or relocated long before
they had earned the money Perry gave them, or even went bankrupt with
$25 million fund dollars like Countrywide Financial.
HELLO????!!!!!!
On August 17th, 2011 at 3:38 pm
Check the sources listed above. Perry is a RINO!
On August 17th, 2011 at 3:57 pm
You’re kidding, right?
This entire build up and push of propaganda to attack Iran since 2007 has been at the behest of Israel and for the perceived shortsighted benefit of Israel.
The US invasion of Iraq was as much for Israel as it was for the Neoconservative vision of a “new American century.”
The US loses hundreds of billions in Israel favored trade deals on top of foreign aid, bribe money to their neighbors, and technology stolen and sold off by them.
The US catches flak for Israeli atrocities in Gaza and the West Bank for unqualified support for what it’s client apartheid state does, or for turning a blind eye.
A US senator introduces a bill to cut funding for specific IDF units for human rights abuses, and Ehud Barak has a private meeting with him personally to disuade him of it.
Darrel Issa gets targetted for assassination by the JDF.
Any politician, talking head, or intellectual faces lawsuits, threats, and career suicide for criticizing Israel by the ADF.
The US blocks every single vote to chastize Israel’s actions in the occupied territories in the UN and suffers hatred for it, adding to the reasons angry oppressed arabs want to attack.
Israel gets caught spying on and attacking the US constantly, through their lobby and outside of it, and never faces condemnation by the US government.
AIPAC is exempt from registering under the foreign agents registration act after renaming themselves from the American Zionist Council.
Israel attacks us property and personnel in the 1950s and 1960s never faced even a strongly worded letter.
Israel brutalizes US military veteran aid workers and murders one. Biden says “What’s the big deal?” and Hillary gives the green light to kill more if they try again.
Israel kills US citizens with bulldozers and tear gas canisters, and not a word is uttered by the government.
Israel tells the US what to do because the defense contractors, Israel lobby, and dispensationalist Christian voting block has total control of the politicians. Israel is a cash cow for the MIC because large parts of that $3billion a year is earmarked to be spent on specific US defense contractors.
On August 17th, 2011 at 4:01 pm
It’s a good thing then that Iran is not developing nuclear weapons and that all the evidence points only to a peaceful civilian power project.
It is also fortunate that the real power in Tehran has shown nothing but a pragmatic willingness to deal and cooperate for his entire tenure. Don’t be fooled by the parodied and demagogued news focus on Ahmadinejad, when he has no more authority than what can be likened to the US Secretary of Interior.
On August 17th, 2011 at 4:03 pm
Obama is much more of a Fascist or a Stalinist than Marxist. He’s been in the pocket of financial institutions and other moneyed interests since day one (both union and corporate).
On August 17th, 2011 at 4:13 pm
Scared? Yes, of another damn big government crusading moralist elephant taking over for the ivory tower authoritarian jackass and kicking off World War III for the sake of Israel and it’s lobby in Washington which the US has been on a slow march towards since 2007, and Obama has kept going into another of the 8 countries targetted after 9/11.

“Today
Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to
restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful. This is especially
true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond,
whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It
is then that all peoples of the world will plead with world leaders
to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the
unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be
willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted
to them by their world government.’

The PeskyTruth article looks at talking points used in the past by the Democrats and does not effectively counter any of the issues raised in this press release. Sorry.

This isn’t an opinion article, it’s a press release from the RLC of Texas board with links to the sources for the various facts which it raises.

I live in Austin. It is true there are people that don’t
like Perry here: Liberals, Trial lawyers, Ron Paul supporters
Alex Jones whack jobs, KBH, Bill White, Karl Rove,
the recent anti-vaccine sheep, democratic socialists,
the enviro-nuts, the extremely liberal Austin press, the
EPA which he fights on a daily basis, the entire Obama
administration as well as all the people that lost to him in elections….
Believe me, he’s been vetted (attacked) and survives every time.
Just the guy we NEED!
every time. He’s just

not compared to what we have now. At least he likes America……………..

People who know Rick Perry don’t like him. Oh sure he is pretty, but he is more of the same ole same ole. I guess the press has “chosen” him because he is as familiar as Bush and Obama. But, some of us don’t want another 4 years of the same. I found Ron Paul and I am never going back. Have you read about him? He is really different. He says what he means and means what he says. I have never found another candidate like him. Sadly, they love to make up horrible stuff about him. Truthfully, he is just a good man with good values who has been consistent forever.

Republican Libertarian Caucus you mean!

Don’t believe all that you read about Perry, The Republicans are just as dirty as the Democrats in the spending this nation into the ground and are not much better. If you don’t fit neatly into the Beltway talking point of Washington they will turn on you. Anybody who speaks their mind scares them. They can’t control them and will demonize them at the drop of a hat, cowboy hat that is. Is there anybody out there that can show me a politician who doesn’t have some kind of baggage, name him? They don’t exist!
As far as the TSA bill, the feds were going to pull all flights into Texas if they passed that bill. How stupid are you? It just twisting word to an end.

I do live in Texas, am an Executive Committee member of my local GOP and I will NEVER vote for Perry. He wins because people are gullible and don’t do the research. In other words, they are stupid.

You really should wake up and quit being a blind mouse following the pied piper.

So why does Ron Paul Pose as a republican when he is actually an anti war Anti military libertarian? similar to the views of Jane Fonda or John Kerry or many other 60′s hippies Who many considered to e cowards.

I find most of the republicans coming up short except CAIN, he owes no one
a favor as most politicians do. We need leadership, which is lacking with BO. Reminds me of a farm of pigs running the country, with them all screaming and
running in different directions. CAIN may not have political experience per se
BUT he sure knows how to run most business that he came in contact with.
Just look at his accomplishments, all positive. Not so with BO, all negative
accomplishments. Ask the people who want jobs, which one they would prefer.
