The crowded field of conservatives could very well result in a moderate getting the nomination as a result of the sheer number of conservative candidates in the race dividing the vote amongst them, leaving a moderate like McCain to move on to November. If CNN does not change their position they just discredit themselves - even more than they are discredited already.
